Vejer Focus 2013 – I Certamen Andaluz de ‘mobile photography’

pincha para la versión en castellano…

The Califa officially launches today Vejer Focus 2013 that will take place between 27 to 29 September. As one of the events of Vejer Art Project (Vejer’s September long open air art festival) this promises to be a mass participant event. Almost everyone has a camera on their phone these days so why not set up a photo competition for the public? The organisers of the event photographers Paul Debois, Jose Aniés and the Califa’s James Stuart came together to organise a ‘democratic’ event. Amateurs, professionals, kids, teens just about anybody that can point and shoot can join in. The first prize is 200€ in cash followed by 100€ second prize and dinner and a night in a Califa suite as third prize. There are also prizes for a whole host of categories and from children.

Photos will be judged in ‘real time’ printed on the spot and displayed in the Califa gallery and on the façade of the Califa. The rules are incredibly simple so the organisers hope to get a mass of participants. Click on the links for more information and we hope to see you in Vejer soon with your smart phone (or tablet) ready to go!
